Street Art in Rome. A visual journey through urban art and the local area

🎨 Art as a bridge between different worlds

The WEB APP STREET ART ROME was created by the association ‘L’ARTE NON HA SBARRE’ (ART HAS NO BARS) to respond to the ever-growing need for integration and interaction, to contribute to other less fortunate young people, by promoting social and cultural messages, and focusing on art as a tool for education, knowledge, and education in beauty by young people for more disadvantaged young people, such as those in prisons, to give them the opportunity to experience their time of deprivation of liberty differently, living it as a period of growth and development.

🏛️ Art, culture and technology for everyone

The project was selected among the best in the ARTES ET IUBILEUM 2025 competition organised by RomaCapitale with the aim of promoting and enhancing the city’s cultural heritage through various activities that will create a continuous dialogue between “inside and outside”, involving, on the one hand, young people from the Casal Del Marmo Juvenile Detention Centre in Rome (RM), and on the other hand, young people, citizens and tourists/pilgrims in the city, with a series of different activities, from guided tours to experimenting with digital applications to promote certain places and works in the city.

🧩 Inside and outside the walls

During workshops with young people from the Casal del Marmo Juvenile Detention Centre, together with artists, psychotherapists and professionals, content and graphic ideas were developed that enabled discussions about art and cities, coexistence and rights, beauty and cultures.

🌈 A new vision of Rome

The WEB APP STREET ART ROME aims to highlight places and works by artists who have committed themselves to making the city more beautiful and to sharing with citizens, tourists and pilgrims a new vision of the Eternal City, a different and unconventional interpretation of the neighbourhoods, streets, alleys and buildings that make Rome the capital of classical and contemporary art, with a particular focus on the most modern and youthful forms of expression such as street art and new technologies.
